Bishopsgate Inn – a family owned New England Inn located just minutes away in East Haddam.  It has an excellent kitchen, ample breakfasts are included with your room.

The Gelston House – located just across the bridge in East Haddam next to the Goodspeed Opera House, we can see it from our dock!  There are just a few rooms in this historic building.

Privateers Pizza and Provisions –  Located at the foot of Main Street in Essex, Privaters provides organic produce, groceries, provisions, and thin crust brick oven pizza for both the local and maritime community.

Experience Essex – enjoy the unique shops of Essex and Ivoryton.

Goodspeed’s Station Country Store – in Haddam offers an array of unique gifts and home decor. Candles, nostalgic candy, handcrafted jewelry, specialty foods, and holiday must haves! Most products are American made!

Outlet Shopping in Westbrook or Clinton – designer bargains await just 15 -20 minutes away.

 

Theater

Goodspeed Musicals – enjoy the beauty of the historic Goodspeed Opera House – home of the American musical and the birthplace of the original Broadway productions: Man of La Mancha, Shenandoah, and Annie, and the first regional theatre to receive two Special Tony Awards for its outstanding achievements.

The Ivoryton Playhouse – The Ivoryton Playhouse Foundation is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of owning, restoring and operating the 100 year old Playhouse, maintaining its cultural, educational, entertainment and service value to the community at large. The Foundation is committed to providing exceptional theatre experiences of high professional quality to enrich, enlighten, educate, and entertain the diverse audience in the Shoreline region and beyond.

The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center: The Kate  A building with a rich, century-long history now celebrating the legacy of one of America’s finest actresses. After state-of-the-art renovations, The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center opened in 2009, committed to bringing diverse arts and culture to the Connecticut shoreline for all ages.

 

Museums

Florence Griswold Museum – centered on the home of Florence Griswold, which was the center of the Old Lyme Art Colony, a main nexus of American Impressionism. The Museum is noted for its collection of American Impressionist paintings.

The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut – an interactive educational and cultural institution located in Niantic, the museum covers 5,000 square feet and is designed to encourage children to study arts, sciences, health, and various cultures.

Lyman Allyn Art Museum is located in New London, Its collection includes European and non-Western art as well as American fine and decorative art, 17th-century European works on paper, 19th-century American paintings, and contemporary art. The museum also conducts educational programs.
